Students are encouraged to seek opportunities to become involved in research projects - they can form the basis for satisfying the NU Core's Experiential Learning requirement, and/or an upper-level Honors Program requirement for students in that program.

Prof. Pam Mabrouk from the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at NU has developed an on-line overview about research for students.

In Spring, 2007, Matt Corbett presented the results of his study under Prof. Bailey's supervision of "Taphonomy and Bioerosion of a Pliocene Coral Thicket from Virginia" at the Northeast Section meeting of the Geological Society of America. Congratulations to Matt on having his paper accepted! (Matt has entered the PhD program in paleontology at the University of Nebraska this year.)
